Amphoriskos With Indentations
3rd-4th Century AD
Deep yellow glass. The elongated , broad-shouldered body of the amphoriskos has diagonal pattern molded ribbing as well as series of irregular indectations.
The Vesel’s tall cylindrical neck has a splayed lipwith infolded rim highlighted by a final trail below it.
A pair of trailed handles are applied to the shoulders of the amphoriskos and pulled up, bent, and attached to the base of the neck; a thick trail of glass appears immediately below the attachment point.
Intact and with very nice patina.
